We respectfully pay homage to our great founder of JMJ society Rev. Fr.Mathias wolff whose vision in 1822 in Holland shaped our institutions all over the world which are significantly serving the society in various fields from its inception. We proudly salute Rev. Sr. Stanislaus Swamikannnu the architect of educational institutions in India who ably carried out the responsibility of strengthening the JMJ Education Edifice.
Our JMJ Matric. Hr. Sec. School at Marakkanam is a minority Institution established on 21st June 2001 by the Sisters of Society of Jesus Mary Joseph called as JMJ. It caters to the Education primarily to the Christian community; yet open to all faiths as well. The school began with Pre- Primary to 1st Std. with 43 students on roll.
From then it was upgraded slowly and the strength grew steadily. The first batch of 10th class appeared for the board exam in the year 2008-2009 and it was promoted to Hr. Sec. in the year 2011-12.
It has 1402 students on roll. Our JMJ at Marakkanam what today is because ofour pioneers and the predecessors whose efforts were untiring, our band of qualified, efficient and dedicated 52 teaching and 15 non-teaching staff. We are proud to place on record, their commitment and expertise which are an impelling spirit, behind all our achievements.The 18years of quality education made at JMJ Matric. Hr. Sec. School in Marakkanam is on par with modern techniques and traditional values with a motto of Love, Joy and Service.
Our School stands as one of the best institutions in the town of Marakkanam with many achievements every year, apart from the academic excellence. Co curricular and extracurricular activities are part of our learning.  All the amenities like highly ventilated and digital classrooms, well equipped labs for English, science and computer, library, spacious play ground, transport facility, extra subjects Hindi, Computer, Abacus, activities like sports and games, yoga, karate, silambam, kumf – kumf, Judo, taekwondo, literary competitions like essay writing, elocution, quiz, fine arts, art & craft, hand writing, inter and intramural competitions, all festival celebrations irrespective of cultural differences, provided in the school, create a conducive atmosphere for the growth and well being of the pupils. We feel blessed and privileged to be a product of JMJ.
The start of every day in very stimulating and enlightening. Conduct of assembly in three languages English, Tamil and Hindi gives us self-assurance of language fluency. ‘Yoga’ that we do everyday gives us relaxation of heart and concentration of mind. Theme based year gives us the drive and urge to achieve incredibility in life. This year theme “Optimism” facilitates us to stay positive in all our education and responsibility believing ‘what we think we become’
We promise to hold many successful feathers in the cap of JMJ to promote and contribute to the society and to make it a pleasant place for all to live, upholding the values of love, joy and service in and through our lives without deviating from the morale that we hold close to our heart.
